About Us

The Spartanburg Food System Coalition was founded in 2015. In August of 2018 we held our first public meeting and shortly thereafter we received a USDA Local Food Promotion Program grant to develop a Greenville/Spartanburg Food System Assessment and Plan. In 2019, we formalized under Partners for Active Living and really gained momentum.

We focus on change through policy, systems, and the environment. Sometimes these changes are tested on a small scale through pilot programs.
